Two Three Hour Workshops
with Nancy
Jumpstart your knitting journey in only six hours!
This two session course is an exploration of the two stitches that are used to make any fabric in knitting: the KNIT stitch and the PURL stitch. Students will have an opportunity to master these two stitches before combining and manipulating them to create interesting textures; you will learn to cast on stitches and bind off stitches and pattern reading as well.
During your six hours of instruction, you will have many opportunities to practice and build on these skills, which are crucial to all knitting projects, no matter their complexity.
Skills introduced:
- Long tail cast on
- Knit stitch
- Purl stitch
- Bind off
- Combining stitches to create texture
- Following a basic pattern and understanding common abbreviations
- Understanding gauge
For this class you will be provided with the following materials, that are yours to keep:
- 1 ball Universal Deluxe Bulky
- US#11 Chiaogoo Patina Bamboo 9” straight needles
