Worked flat and knit from the bottom up, this cardigan features an all over moss stitch texture broken up by bobbles and cables. Once split at the armpit, fronts and backs are worked separately before being joined together at the shoulder; sleeves are picked up and knit in the round.
Whether you’re new to cables and bobbles, or an expert in both, the Bread Basket Cardigan is a beautiful way to hone your skills.
Skill level:
MUST know how to cast on, knit, purl, bind off, work ribbing, and work small circumferences in the round (using preferred method - magic loop, DPNs, or small circulars). Familiarity with basic increases and decreases is also recommended. Basic understanding of pattern reading is strongly encouraged. Although this cardigan is an advanced project, prior experience making cables and bobbles is not necessary.
PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR HOMEWORK ASSIGNED EACH WEEK. EACH CLASS WILL COVER A NEW SKILL AND COMPLETION OF THE PROJECT WILL DEPEND ON THE KNITTING YOU DO INDEPENDENTLY.
