This six session series will introduce you to the creative world of hand embroidery, which is like painting with needle and thread! As you complete the four panel sampler designed by Meryl, you will learn:

  • a variety of straight stitches - such as running and stem
  • wrapped stitches - such as French knots, pistil, and bullion
  • linked stitches - such as chain, lazy daisy, and fly
  • woven stitches  - such as wheel and rose


No prior embroidery or sewing experience is necessary!

 

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR HOMEWORK ASSIGNED EACH WEEK.  EACH CLASS WILL COVER A NEW SKILL AND COMPLETION OF THE PROJECT WILL DEPEND ON THE KNITTING YOU DO INDEPENDENTLY.

    ALL MATERIALS WILL BE PROVIDED AT THE START OF THE FIRST CLASS AND WILL INCLUDE:

    • fabric
    • transfer paper
    • embroidery hoop
    • needles
    • cotton embroidery thread in a variety of colors

     

    Any additional supplies purchased from The Local Yarn Store for use in this class will be discounted 10%. 

    Please be sure to have your supplies in hand before the first session!
