Dip your toe into colorwork with this lovely shawl! Mosaic knitting is a good intro to working with two colors because you only have to manage one strand of yarn at a time. The charts can be confusing at first, but once you know how they work they're easy to navigate and the pattern for this becomes intuitive after a few repeats. This three hour session will get everyone cast on and working the mosaic design and help to develop an understanding of the structure of the shawl and how to read and manage the chart.
