"Visible mending is an ornamental approach to repairing an item. Rather than trying to mask the area where the item was damaged, the goal is to highlight these imperfections in a creative, eye-catching way. A combination of techniques and materials can be used to extend the life of an item which is otherwise in good condition, save a small hole, rip or tear." - Embroiderer's Guild of America
We all have a favorite pair of jeans, or a beloved sweater that we don't want to part with but don't wear often because of holes. In this workshop, students will learn to repair tears in cloth using a variety of techniques including: sashiko embroidery, reverse appliqué, creative freestyle embroidery and woven patches.
EACH STUDENT WILL RECEIVE A KIT WITH TOOLS AND MATERIALS TO TAKE HOME.
Any supplies purchased from The Local Yarn Store for use in this class will be discounted 10%.
