Ziggurat Sweater

Asa Söderman's Ziggurat is one of the most ingenious top-down set in sleeve designs we've seen. Fans of seamless knitting will appreciate her reluctance to cut yarn unless it's absolutely necessary. The integrated pockets and button bands will appeal to knitters who hate picking up stitches and seaming. Throughout, her design details and technique are impeccable.

This class takes advantage of the fact that all ziggurats begin in the same way to offer two project options. Both sweaters are DK / Light Worsted weight, "messing about in boats" (a pullover) and "Cajsa" (a cardigan). We begin on a weekend with the foundational zig-zagging of the design and continue on weeknights to complete the project.

messing about in boats is the easier of the two options, and is worked in a slightly bigger gauge. This is a good option if you don't have a lot of knitting time or tend to knit more slowly.

Cajsa is technically more challenging with the integrated button bands, button holes and double knit pockets (there is an easier option!), as well as being a slightly smaller gauge.
